A Starfield player has stumbled upon an adorable bug at one of their outposts, as they found it overrun with knee-high Garden Mini-Bots that they didn”t place there. Starfield”s outpost system has long been criticized by fans for being confusing, but this player was left truly baffled by the mysterious robots.

Outposts in Starfield serve as places where players can build to their hearts” content. In addition to creating and decorating air-tight homes all across the galaxy, players can also build extractors to harvest a planet”s natural resources, which can be sold in batches or used in crafting recipes. Along with letting hired crew members staff these bases, players can also deploy a variety of robots, which can increase the production rates of certain types of resources.

Awesome Clip Shows How Much Stealth Has Improved in Starfield

A recently shared fan video does a great job at illustrating how much Bethesda managed to improve Starfield stealth following the game”s release.

But for Reddit user T-Lightning, the appearance of an entire herd of Garden Mini-Bots was not something that they had planned. According to the player, more and more diminutive robots appear every time the player spawns at the outpost. Starfield limits the number of crew members and robots that can be placed at each outpost, yet the video appears to show about a dozen different robots bumbling aimlessly through the tall grass there, which is far more than would be available under normal conditions. The player said they use a mod called Bard”s Outpost Recruitment Beacon, which recruits settlers just like the beacon in Fallout 4, but they don”t believe that mod is supposed to attract robots in addition to humans.

Starfield Player Isn”t Sure What to Do with All Their Garden Mini-Bots

The player plans on keeping the Garden Mini-Bots at the outpost, though they joked that they were afraid the adorable little mechanoids would eventually overrun the entire place. Several commenters suggested that they simply start a garden at the outpost to give the robots something productive to do. More than one fan has noted that the ever-increasing number of tiny robots was reminiscent of the constantly multiplying Tribbles from the Star Trek franchise. Just two other players in the comments have claimed to have experienced something similar, with one attributing the bug to the aforementioned recruitment beaacon mod.Close

While the robots did leave the player confused, their appearance certainly isn”t the most game-breaking error to hit outposts. For example. a far worse occurrence had one player in November reporting that after more than 600 hours in the game, Starfield would crash whenever they approached their main outpost, never letting them get closer than 250 meters away. Something like multiplying garden bots is harmless in comparison.
