Just ten days short of its seven-month release anniversary, the widely lauded metroidvania has at last landed on Valve”s storefront. Steam users can currently even pick it up at a hefty 40% launch discount, which brings its price down to $23.99. This introductory offer will be available for two weeks in total, until August 22. The discount also applies to the Deluxe Edition of the game, which is currently retailing for $29.99 rather than $49.99. The higher-tiered edition comes with some extra outfits for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown”s Sargon, as well as a digital adventure guide.
The Lost Crown Steam Version Has Denuvo, Ubisoft Account Requirement, Steam Deck Support
The Steam version of PoP: The Lost Crown requires a Ubisoft account to play. And while the disclaimers listed on its store page don”t mention anything about third-party launchers, early player reports on the Steam Community boards suggest that the game indeed cannot be started without installing Ubisoft Connect. What they do say is that the Steam version of The Lost Crown comes with Denuvo Anti-Tamper, a somewhat controversial DRM solution among the PC gaming crowd. The publisher today also announced a release date for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown”s Mask of Darkness DLC, stating that the add-on will debut on September 17 across all platforms, Steam included. Aside from another original story to experience, Mask of Darkness also promises to introduce a new and decisively darker world to explore. The DLC will launch alongside the Complete Edition of The Lost Crown, which will include Mask of Darkness and all of the game”s Deluxe Edition contents.
