Memorable situations involving shiny Pokemon happen often in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Soon after the game was released, for example, one gamer had a tragic attempt at capturing a shiny Flamigo. On this occasion, the player spotted a shiny Flamigo, but was interrupted by a phone call, and ended up losing the chance to fight it.

Luckily, shiny hunts do not always have a bad ending. Last year, a player caught a rare shiny in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond after 10 years of trying. In this case, the gamer had Shaymin as their favorite Pokemon, and took literal years until finally being able to successfully capture it with a Dive Ball in Flower Paraside. Luckily, most gamers do not spend so much time on their quests to acquire rare creatures.
