Reddit user Warlonator recently shared a clip of their Marvel Rivals strategy for Doctor Strange. Similar to how he does in the Marvel movies, Doctor Strange can open portals to transport allies and enemies alike. Dubbed the Pentagram of Farallah in the game, one player has discovered that these portals can be set up in front of the enemy spawn rooms. The Reddit users” video begins with the player defeating an opposing Marvel Rivals Hulk before setting up one portal in front of one spawn room door, and the other in front of the second. As a result of this play, their opponents couldn”t escape the spawn room, as entering one portal would eject them out the other, causing a spawn room loop.
How Does Doctor Strange”s Marvel Rivals Portal Work?
Doctor Strange is a Vanguard hero in Marvel Rivals, and he has abilities like Shield of the Seraphim that protect teammates from damage using a magical barrier. Out of all his abilities, the Pentagram of Farallah may be the most widely used for its utility in fundamentally changing the dynamics of a match. While Overwatch 2”s Symmetra can create portals, they”re only intended for her allies to use. This occasionally still causes players to be sent falling to their deaths by their teammates, but these portals also require button input to use. The Doctor Strange Portal in Marvel Rivals simply works by players walking through them, which seems to be causing a handful of problems.Close
Given how unfair this strategy is to the opposing team, some players may end up giving the developer negative feedback regarding Doctor Strange. With Marvel Rivals still in beta testing, though, NetEase Games has plenty of time to remove this Doctor Strange strategy.
